The time has come... the BETA has been released!

Greetings, fellow travellers!
After our journey through inhospitable landscapes, our gaze rests on the tavern of the lost city. Has the time come to turn another page in our book of destiny? Well, it looks like it has.
Attention: this is a VERY long update!
1.- A bit of history.
Our KS campaign ended on December 23rd. We started working on the project fully, January 1st.
It was true that we had large parts of the code done, and an exhaustive study of what was left to do, but it was time to make it work! Our first assessment for beta release (May) was wrong. A first hiccup with two weeks downtime in January due to Covid, the courage to change the UI (with all that entails) and discovering that some utilities needed to be matured more than expected to be stable in the future put a lot of pressure and stress on us.
We decided that the beta should be enough to allow you to play and create maps, not just single utilities. We gritted our teeth and went for it. The whole Chronos Builder team is responsible for the results, from the first to the last. And a special mention goes to Cybrex and El Bardo Chillón, our Discord moderators and beta-beta-testers! XD
Important: we do not forget that, in most cases, we have had your support, both when the news were diffuse and when they were directly bad. We have no words to express our gratitude. Thank you very much.
2.- Beta download.
All of you must have an email in your kickstarter/backerkit late pledge accounts where you will receive the Steam key. Please, if not, check your SPAM folder. If you can't find the email, please contact us at [email protected]. For security reasons we will NOT provide the keys through Discord, as it is easy to impersonate people.
3.- Using the beta.
You can use the beta as much as you want. You can upload your creations in the Discord #cb-maps channel, and we will be making selections and uploading them in our RRSS (always mentioning the author, of course, or mentioning what you prefer (put it in the map)).
Enjoy this preview version of Chronos Builder, before the final release!
You have a video for the first steps here -> https://youtu.be/2zuPU1QnOvQ
4.- Report bugs and survey.
You can report bugs in the bug-reporting channel of Discord, although we would appreciate that you first look at the bug-fixing channel, in case it has already been reported to us and it is solved!
Also, we give you the following link to our survey: https://forms.gle/Nzzcw79we5AuTUVYA
We would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to give us structured feed. Thank you very much in advance.
5.- Roadmap!
Everything that is pending of the beta will be completed in three branches:
1.- Adequacy and import of assets.
2.- Finalization and optimization of tools.
3.- Bug-fixing.
As we’ve mentioned before, we will make periodic updates of the software (at least once a month, more or less), and we will always tell you what we have advanced in each of these three branches.
In fact, we already have something ready for the first one!
And that's all! We look forward to hearing your impressions and we hope to see you on the road ahead.
Stay tuned for our updates till the final release! :D
Cheers!
Quick explanation - Beta for Medieval pledge or higher only
almost 4 years ago
– Tue, Jun 21, 2022 at 11:31:11 PM
Hello again!
We are sending you this new (and quick) update because we were not clear enough in the previous one.
Backers with access to the beta are only those who have a Medieval pledge or higher. If you have an Ancient Pledge, Early Beta access is not included in the rewards.
Anyway, you can extend your pledge here -> https://chronos-builder.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders
Sorry for the ambiguity of the previous message, and for the inconvenience!
Thank you very much to all of you! ;)
Cheers!
The promised update (a Monday, the best day of the week! XD)
– Tue, Jun 14, 2022 at 12:39:17 AM
Good morning and greetings from our dank (and coquettish) dungeon. Today is the day of the promised update, and we can tell you that we are the bearer of good news.
1.- The beta (give me the beta, give me the beta, give me the beta!)
We have uploaded the beta to Steam (finally!). Steam warns us that now it has to pass a validation process of 3 to 5 working days. As soon as we get the ok from Steam and it’s released, we will start sending out e-mails.
2.- What will happen then?
When day D arrives at time T, the following events will happen:
- You will receive an email with the subject: "Chronos Builder Beta Key (you deserve it!)".
- There you will get the key and the link to access the product.
- Use the key and download it, as easy as that!
- In case of any problem, we will attend you in [email protected] (we will be very attentive, and it will be faster than by discord)
---> Remember that we will start mailing in blocks of 500 users (in order of entry by KS). We will notify you with another update in KS as soon as we have FINISHED sending all the keys
3.- What do we expect from you?
First of all, we expect you to be clear that this is a beta, and not the final version of the program (in most cases it goes without saying, apologies).
On the other hand, we hope that with the functionality it contains you will be able to assemble maps and enjoy Chronos Builder immediately!
In addition, these new channels are enabled in discord:
God Tier -> Bug-fixing (bugs that are already fixed, only for devs/mods to write there)
God Tier -> Bug-reporting (for all of you! Prepare your knives! )
Workshop -> CB-Maps (this channel will be open to everyone, but only beta-testers will be able to write/post images on them!).
In addition, we will also leave you a form where you can fill in and modify during your experience, so that we have the data more organized and we can work better with them. It is not mandatory but it will certainly help improve Chronos!
4.- We read and listen to you.
We read both your KS messages and your e-mails (which are all answered), as well as the RRSS and Discord. And, although we understand that some of you think that the periodicity of the updates/news is not appropriate, we think that an update every 20-25 days is enough to have something to tell you.
Besides, we didn't have a general design (when changing the UI) that we thought was enough, and we didn't want to show you something half finished. A few days of leeway makes a big difference in finishing the tools.
Now we will be able to show you videos of improvements made, or bugs fixed. Even so, we don't intend to change the periodicity (except when we finish the coolest stuff, which we won't miss a moment to communicate it!)
Thanks for your understanding in this aspect!
5.- Roadmap
Our roadmap is divided in three different branches:
1.- Solving bugs (both reported and found by us).
2.- Finalization of pending utilities.
3.- Adding and adapting new assets.
We will give you a monthly update about how things are going and whats to come. We will also let you know when CB will be updated so you can enjoy the new options.
And that's all for now, we will start downloading in a few days!
Thanks, as always! Cheers.
Last day of May - Last update of May XD
– Wed, Jun 01, 2022 at 06:31:41 AM
Hi, folks! New update, last day of May!
1.- Beta release:
We regret to inform you that we need a few more days for the beta to have the functionality we believe necessary. Although it is a beta and (logically) will not have the full potential of Chronos Builder, we want it to have enough usability.
As we said, we have done all the development always thinking about the future, and therefore we have had to partially program some modules that will not appear in the beta so that the code has consistency and avoid problems later.
We know you are eager to gut this beta (damn, so are we!), but we ask for a little more patience.
2.- Communications
We have read comments about the periodicity of our communications, both in discord and social networks. We had estimated one update per month, believing that it is enough, but we understand that in this pre-beta phase (and, in addition, having a delay in the delivery) there is more expectation about it.
As the beta is online, we will be able to discuss certain topics and inform you about the tools that have been developed or show videos of their use. We can even make a stream for you, if you want (and if you didn't feel embarrassed enough with the last one we released!)
3.- An eye for an eye
To be fair, we are now 1 month late, both because of the Covid issues that affected us at the beginning of the year and our mistakes in the roadmap (which we accept, not everything is external!).
That's why we are considering a long term compensation to alleviate your suffering. And I can say no more!
That's all. We are sorry that this update is not the launching one, but it's getting closer. Thank you very much for your patience and we will keep in touch. (You know we love you, don't you?)
Cheers!
P.S. We are not finished! You guys deserve some pictures :D
(Friendly reminder - beta development level!).
Facts:
- We are changing the whole UI from the original design (that took an unexpected time, but it will be better in the end).
- We will give you a detailed list of the standardized assets that the demo will contain.
- We will give you a roadmap with the planned updates before the final release.
Your comments will be welcome both here and on Discord (please remember we cry easily...) XD
You are the best! Thanks again ;)
Incoming may! Incoming news! ;)

Greetings, friends!
We are back with news. Let's get to it!
1.- Beta realease
First of all, the most important thing!
We are still working to launch the beta during this month of May (it's getting closer, and we know it! :D).
We deeply appreciate you, for telling us not to crunch. However, we want to give you the promised beta as soon as possible. That's why we will have another update next week. Stay tuned!
2.- Sending beta keys on Steam
- We are successfully registered and have received all the Steam keys.
- They are already assigned to your users (hooray!).
- Because the beta is not uploaded, if we send them to you and you run them, the keys will be unusable. Therefore, they will be sent by automated mail as soon as the beta is available, in blocks of 500 users.
- We will choose them randomly, and there will be a gap of an hour between every deploy.
3.- Continuous growth... why not?
We have decided to make continuous updates as soon as the beta is released.
This means that you will have more and more assets and more options to create maps with Chronos Builder.
Although we know that this will imply some fatigue on your side to give us feedback, and that we will also have many more things to evaluate and discuss, we believe that the development of Chronos Builder will be more organic and, ultimately, better for you. ;)
To resume:
We are alive, we are working non-stop and you'll have more news next week.
Thanks for your support, it means the world to us.
Let's go for it! Cheers!!
